Victoria Blazer

I was very excited about getting this pattern for my birthday and surprised myself with how straight-forward I found making this. The pattern is from By Hand London and it’s a little more expensive than the usual patterns (although I didn’t pay for it so who cares) but they do offer great pattern support with their sew-alongs so the extra cost is justified. Check out the 2 sewing machines in the bottom right hand corner. I would never have said I was an intermediate sewer!

It’s a cropped blazer and is not supposed to be fitted so i didn’t have to alter the pattern, which is lucky because I wouldn’t have a clue how to! It was the first time I’ve ever made anything with sleeves apart from knitted jumpers. It was also the first time I’ve done French seams on a garment and added a lining. Despite all these ‘Firsts’, it really didn’t take long to make at all.

I think I might make a longer, more casual Blazer next. Here is the link to the sew-along.
