Hello! I’m still going strong with my me-makes. Here is what I’ve been wearing over the last week…
Sunday 22nd May
Hello again! Here is a quick round-up of what I’ve been wearing this week…
Sunday 8th May
It was the hottest day we’ve had so far so I wore this unblogged little top, the pattern for which came from the Great British Sewing Bee third book. Continue reading
A pair of easy trousers from Simple Modern Sewing. The fabric is a remnant from Abakhan’s in Manchester and I think it is a linen blend because it does tend to crease very easily. The trousers have an elasticated waist, so a long top was needed to cover that up, but otherwise very comfy and great for work. Continue reading
I’m still managing a different item each day although it’s getting harder. After getting a good telling off from my brother about the quality of my photos I’ve tried to improve them – not very successfully, particularly with the indoor shots. Sorry about that. Obviously it’s not been me taking them though! Here’s how I’ve done this week: Continue reading
My first ever attempt at Me-Made-May is off to a good start! I’m going to be wearing everything I’ve ever made (that I still have) throughout this month and decide how I feel about each item. Before I started I was worried, what with May being a spring month and everything, that I would be unable to wear my knitted stuff as it would be too warm. No worries on that score. I’m now concerned that it’s going to be too cold to wear my summer tops! Continue reading
Gulp… Yesterday I signed up for Me-Made-May. Should be interesting!
I’m sure the vast majority of you know what that is but in case you don’t you can find out here.
This is my pledge:
‘I, Corrine of applebymakes.wordpress.com, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’15. I endeavour to wear at least one me-made knitted, sewn or refashioned garment, or accessory, each day for the duration of May 2015’
Note the clever use of the word ‘accessory’. I Have saved a few scarves and hair scrunchies (yes I’m living in the 90s) just in case of emergencies!
This will be a big challenge for me. I certainly have not got enough separate garments to be able to wear a different one for each day but I think I can do it. Continue reading
Looking back over my makes of 2014 I’ve realised that some of them have gone unblogged. Let’s put that right now…
1 – I’m ashamed to say that this is the only knitting I completed last year. This hat was finished nearly a year ago, back in January 2014. It was an adapted pattern from my ‘knit today’ magazine. I say adapted because the pattern called for aran Continue reading
