Things are starting to get tricky now but I’m just about managing to keep up with Me Made May. On Monday I wore my Delphine skirt from Love at First Stitch (read about it here). Last week I promised myself that I was going to incorporate more dresses into my days and I just about managed it. I don’t know why but I always feel overdressed when I wear a dress so I usually stick to separates. Sometimes it’s good to come out of your comfort zone.
I started off with my Moneta dress which I made for last year’s Little Red Dress Project. I’m not 100% convinced about it – that gathered waistline makes me feel enormous! But it is comfortable. You can read about it here. Continue reading
If you’re in the UK you must have heard about the dressmakers ball. When this was first announced I looked into getting a ticket to go. And then my husband ruined everything by pointing out that it’s at 7.00pm on a Friday night in Leicester which is a bugger to get to on the train from Scarborough. Even if I left work the instant I finished I would be very late and stressed. I’ve decided to be jealous of everyone who is going and just hope that they do it again next year (on a Saturday please so us workers from far away can go!). Continue reading
Yay, it’s that time of year again!

I endeavour to wear a minimum of one me-made or refashioned garment each day for the duration of May 2017,and for one day a week to wear an outfit consisting of a minimum of two home made garments’.
This is my third year of Me Made May and now I think that it will be quite straightforward to wear something Me Made every day. It’s the outfit bit I’m going to struggle with as most of my hand made bits and bobs don’t actually go with each other! Off to a good start though for this week… Continue reading
